I woke up to see

mountains

there was no hiding from the life

the Cherokee knew this feeling

the Cherokee is in my blood

a short drive of great views

the deepest depths

the highest highs

full vistas of red and gold and green

purple fog that mystifies

I felt so big

to be part of this wonder

it gave me new life

and inspiration

this is where home is

here in God's country

time stood still as I

slowly breathed

spirits of nature filled

my heart

and gave me direction

a bike passed by

and then two more

I took my place

with the men

four wheels instead of

two

machine with mechanical muscle

a balance between technology

and amazement

I've rejoined the regular

world since then

but my heart is

forever changed

to remember

the potential
